San Diego State rebounded after a tough loss at home to Boise State with an emphatic 83-56 drubbing of rival New Mexico. Trailing 16-4 early in the first half, the Aztecs methodically clawed their way back into the game and never let up. Malik Pope led the SDSU with 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including 2-2 from three-point range, and 6-6 from the free throw line in a team-high 37 minutes played. After free throws plagued the SDSU down the stretch against Boise State, the Aztecs hit 20-of-24 free throws against New Mexico.
